Output audio
Speaker and headphone test signals are generated in the browser. The site does not receive, record or upload the sound produced by your output device.
Microphone access
Microphone and spectrum tools request browser permission only after you press their start control. Samples are processed by Web Audio in the page. Optional microphone recordings are limited to ten seconds, stored only in memory for immediate playback and discarded when replaced or the page closes.
Local diagnostic history
Up to ten compact sessions may be stored in localStorage for ninety days. They contain test type, answer codes, diagnosis identifiers, operating-system choice and time. They do not contain recordings or device names. The diagnosis screen provides delete and clear-all controls.
Shared result links
A result link encodes the same compact diagnostic fields in its URL. Anyone who receives the link can read those fields. Result pages are marked noindex. Do not add personal information to a URL when sharing it.
Analytics
When configured, Google Analytics 4 records coarse events such as tool viewed, test started, test completed, diagnosis started and retest started. Audio, answer values, diagnosis causes and device names are not sent as event parameters.
For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics stays disabled until consent is granted. Other regions may load analytics by default. A stored choice can be cleared through browser site-data controls.
Advertising
Advertising is disabled by default. No advertising script, container, request or placeholder is loaded unless valid AdSense configuration is deliberately enabled. Before personalized or non-personalized ads are served in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site must use a Google-certified consent management platform that supports the required Transparency and Consent Framework. The current analytics choice is not used as advertising consent.
If advertising is enabled later, this policy and the cookie details will be updated to identify the providers, purposes, retention and user controls before requests are sent. The site will not place ads next to audio playback, diagnosis or result-confirmation controls.
Infrastructure logs
The hosting provider may process ordinary request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamps for security, delivery and reliability. Online Sound Test does not operate an account database.
Your controls
- Deny or revoke microphone permission in browser site settings.
- Delete local diagnostic history from the diagnosis page.
- Clear site data to remove local history and consent choices.
- Decline analytics where the consent control is shown.
